P6PS Shannagh-More Trip October 2024
Both P6 classes have had a blast on their trip to Shannagh-More this week.
P6PS
P6PS headed off on their adventures on Monday 21st October - Wednesday 23rd October. It is safe to say that pupils were very excited and a little nervous to see what outdoor challenges lay ahead. On arrival pupils were very excited to see the centre and of course to find out who they were sharing dorms with. Our first activity was an adventure walk in Tollymore forest. All three groups embraced the challenge of climbing under, around and through things and loved get wet and muddy along the way. After a delicious dinner we headed out in a long line with blindfolds to feel our way through a section of the forest with many obstacles along the way. It definitely challenged the kids but good communication along the way ensured all got through it safely.
Day two's activities were wet bouldering in Bloody Bridge and low and high ropes climbing. It was again a beautiful sunny day and kids loved clambering over rocks and jumping and sliding in rock pools. Next pupils tried low and high ropes climbing. It s safe to say that there are lots of brave pupils in this class who felt super proud of how far they climbed. That evening we worked in teams to do a scavenger hunt outside, sang songs round an 'unlit' campfire and finally enjoyed playing in the games rooms and a disco.
On our final day pupils did archery and wall climbing. Lots of amazing climbers here!
Throughout the three days pupils displayed amazing determination and resilience when trying these new challenging activities. The class were really great at supporting and encouraging each other and we are so very proud of all they achieved.
Lots of precious memories made together.
