Viking Workshop
P.6 Enjoy Interactive Viking Workshop
On Thursday 14th February Primary 6 pupils enjoyed a fun interactive Viking workshop led by Rita Calwell from Event Full Days. Children participated in a range of activities for example; dressing up as a Viking, making flour with a stone quern, playing a strategic Viking game called Trip, Trap, Troll, sword training and spear making. They had the opportunity to handle Viking artefacts, weave friendship bracelets with Sarah and to decode a secret message in Viking runes. The Unexpected arrival of Ragnar the Viking and his son Rossi was met with a few screams but he soon put the children at ease and taught them all about Viking weapons.
This ‘hands on’ experience really brought the Viking topic to life. Children participated enthusiastically, increased their understanding and most of all had fun! The children also demonstrated their wealth of knowledge from their own research during quiz time!
Here Comes Ragner the Viking!
