Sports Day 2016
Bridge held its annual sports day on Wednesday 8th June 2016. As always, this was one of the highlights of the school year and the events ran smoothly throughout the day under the expertise of Mrs Whan and her many helpers. It was a wonderful day enjoyed by all of our children and it was lovely to see so many parents who came along to show their support and encourage their children. Pupils participated in a variety of events; from flat races, long distance, throwing, jumping and various obstacle races & relays. The P.7 farmer race as always was one of the highlights and it was super to see so many parents participating in the mums, dads and parent and toddler races!
The weather was kind to us and although the ground was a bit wet to begin with in the morning, it soon dried up and was lovely and sunny later in the afternoon. As always, sports day is a fun event with every child participating and enjoying supporting and encouraging each other to have fun and try their best. The Parents Group very kindly organised treat bags for the pupils to buy so that pupils could enjoy a lovely treat after their events to replenish they energy levels! Parents were also able to buy some refreshments, provided by the Parents Group, to keep them cool.
A huge thank-you to Mrs Whan who organised the day and to all of the many helpers who volunteered of their time; Simon Hodgett, Noleen O'Neill, Heather Ardis, EVO Soccer coaches and the many past pupils who helped out on the day! Thanks to all of our many willing parent volunteers from BIPS Parents' Group who helped on the day or behind the scenes - you support is much appreciated and every child benefits from all money raised! :-)
The event was supported by EVO Soccer, Moonlighting Sound Systems and BIPs Parents Group.
