P6S Trip to Shannagh-More 2016
Tuesday 18th October 2016
Everyone got up for breakfast this morning and were eager for the day's activities. Two groups went on an adventure walk in Tollymore Forest park this morning whilst the third group tried out the high and low ropes courses. The adventure walkers had lots of obstacles and challenges to overcome and didn't mind getting rather muddy!(:-) The group who went on the low and high ropes courses today encouraged and supported each other to ensure that everyone felt proud of how much they achieved. After a fulfilling lunch we all headed to Castlewellan Park for some orienteering fun.

This morning P.6S were very excited to head off on their first residential trip together. Bags were packed with all the essentials, goodbyes and hugs were given to parents before excited children boarded the bus for Shannagh-More!
We have all arrived safely, enjoyed a mini tour of the centre before seeing our allocated bedrooms. Soon after, we gathered all of the outdoor kit we will need for the activities from the store before enjoying a delicious lunch. On such a beautiful afternoon we couldn't wait to get out on our first activity; scrambling in Pigeon Rocks in the magnificent Mournes. All the walking, climbing and scrambling over and through rocks worked up an appetite for dinner, which helped replenish us before we headed out on our beach walk in Murlough Bay. After a quick stop at the shop on our way back to the centre, we all enjoyed the teachers making us some lovely toast for supper. Everyone is now settled for the night and we look forward to whatever adventures are ahead of us tomorrow.
