P.5 Try Out the Street Velodrome
On Friday 10 June, both Primary 5 classes participated in the Velodrome event provided by the Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council.
Pupils had the opportunity to ride the bicycles and negotiate ramps while racing each other.
Bicycles, helmets and protective armbands were all provided. The children were given advice and instruction on how to complete the cycling event.
Everyone thoroughly enjoyed this cost free outing and all children had the opportunity to participate, receive a medal and meet the Lord Mayor!
Well done to all cyclists, this was a fantastic opportunity for outdoor learning and exercise on a beautiful sunny day.
Thank you to the organisers.
On Saturday 11 June the public can get to grips with the handlebars from 10am – 5pm. Booking is not required, simply turn up and try your hand at this fast, fun and friendly activity.
The great news is Street Velodrome is completely free and all equipment is supplied. The Street Velodrome team will be on hand to offer coaching and advice so you can enjoy this high energy sport knowing you are in safe hands.
