P.4W iPad Project with the AMMA Centre
This year Bridge IPS is lucky enough to be chosen as a focus school to work with the AMMA Centre, Armagh. P.4W and P.5R have been chosen to work with the centre's staff to create an fun ICT project which will enhance pupil ICT skills and confidence.
P4 are in the process of creating fictional movies from evacuee letters written by the pupils decribing their time as an evacuee. In groups, the children will decide on the letter to use as their voice-over. The voice-over will be recorded and music composed in Garageband to create a sound track (in groups).
The groups will storyboard the voice-over/letter into a number of scenes (4-5 scenes)
The children will dramatise the story with props and costumes during a drama workshop, taking photos of themselves as characters and props needed for their story. They will use archive photos or take their own photos of locations for backgrounds. The photos will then be used in Puppet Pals to animate each scene – voice-over will accompany each scene (in groups).
Each group will have 4-5 exported scenes from Puppet Pals transferred onto the iPads. Using iMovie, each pupil will then edit the scenes together, add their titles and soundtrack plus any additional sounds.
P4W have been working with Niall and Graeme from the AMMA Centre this term, who have really got the children enthused and stimulated, looking at different types of shots in film and creating their own music using Garageband .
In the photographs the children are learning how to take a range of photographs, and having great fun too!
