On Friday 25th June P.1 enjoyed a very exciting visit from Jurassic Ark Encounters. They got to see and touch a range of reptiles up close. What an amazing experience! Smiles all around.

As part pf our World Around Us topic P.6 measured out the size of a lifeboat and explored what it was like to fit inside it. We were all shocked that there was so much space left after we all got inside. We reflected what it would have been like to have leave loved ones behind onboard and considered how many lives could have been saved if all the lifeboats had been filled.

Whilst we have all been busy learning from home, Mrs Davis, Mr Duggan, Mrs Devlin, Mrs McClatchy, past pupils including Matthew, Charlie and some parents have been very busy transforming our internal courtyard gardens. I bet you all can't wait to get back to school to see them!

BBC Comes to Bridge IPS Again
P.6T enjoyed recording a Christmas carol medley for Blue Peter on Tuesday 15th December. Camera operator Eugene and sound guy Chris from the BBC recorded the singing in the school hall in a beautiful Christmas backdrop created by our very own and very talented Mr Duggan. Well done boys and girls - you were amazing and a huge thank-you to Mrs McKay for organising this publicity for our school and for preparing the children in a just three days!
Mathletics Bronze Awards Winners in P.6T
Congratulations to the first Mathletics bronze award winners in P.6T.
Missing from the photo is Isabella, who has won not one but two bronze certificates. Well done everyone!
P.7Y/W Sing Carols for Spelga Mews Residents
On Friday 11th December P.7Y/W really enjoyed entertaining local resident at Spelga Mews with some Christmas Carols. They also brought with them a very special inter-generational project which was created by both the P.7 pupils and the residents. Their stunning Winter scene was lovingly crafted and painted to helo celebrate and spread some Christmas cheer.

BBC Comes to Bridge
How very exciting to see pupils in our school feature on the BBC News on Tuesday 7th December.
Robbie Meredith and a film crew came to Bridge to film some interactive Maths Lessons in P.1 and P.7 classes. The TTMS report was published celebrating the fact that Northern Ireland came 7th in Europe in Mathematics. Thanks to Mrs McKay for organising this. It was fantastic to see our amazing pupils featured on the BBC.
Celebrating Any-Bullying Week 2020
and Odd Socks Day
During anti-bullying week 2020 pupils in Bridge enjoyed taking part in a variety of activities promoting positive behaviour and awareness of bullying and the best way to deal with it. Pupils all wore odd socks to celebrate the fact that we are all unique. Our amazing children were encouraged to be kind to each other and to look out for each other and many pupils were caught being kind and were delighted to receive special certificates to bring home.

Holy Communion 2020
Our current P.5 Roman Catholic pupils finally got to celebrate making their First Holy Communion on Saturday 17th October 2020.
With the current Covid19 restrictions in place sadly our whole school community couldn't come and celebrate, but it was such a special celebration shared with their families. The pupils were super and everyone enjoyed a lovely cupcake and ice cream afterwards to help celebrate.
Well done boys and girls and a huge thank you to Mrs Walsh and our musicians Therese and Matthew who helped to make the ceremony extra special.
Confirmation 2020
Congratulations to our RC P.7 pupils 19/20 who finally got to receive the sacrament of Confirmation on 25th August 2020. It was lovely to share this special celebration with the children involved and their families.
Sparkly Clean Windows
A huge thank you to Ruby's dad Keith from Exterior Solutions for cleaning our exterior windows and sign on 28th August 2020. We now have lovely sparkly windows to welcome all our pupils back to start the new school year.

Positivity, Gratitude and Kindness in P.6
P.6T enjoyed a fun workshop with our Shared Educations partners and Steven from AB Coaching. We learned about the power of positivity. We were each given a pebble/rock, all of which were different and unique and we wrote positive phrases on them. We thought about things, people and places we were grateful for... thankfully school was chosen as a place to be grateful for.

Banbridge Fire Station
Follwoing watching a recent news report on the C2K Newsdesk P.6T were really moved by the images of tired firefighters trying to put out the recent forest fire on Slieve Donard. To show our thanks we sent a thank you card to Banbridge Fire Station and this was warmly received by the watch commander Johnny McKinstry and Mrs McKiverigan's daughter Shenna.

Mathletics Super Stars
In Bridge we have purchased a new Maths program to support, enhance and extend pupils' learning in Mathematics. P.1 and P.7 have been the first classes to trial this and below are some pupils have have already achieved their Bronze Award. Well done boys and girls.
Christmas Jumper Day 2020
Time for some festive fun!
On Friday 11th December Bridge was awash with Christmas colours and glitter as pupils and staff wore their Christmas jumpers to school. There were lots of smiling faces and great excitement as we all got to enjoy watching an online Pantomime called Cinderella by the West Midlands Theatre Company. Treats were enjoyed by the pupils and thanks to our amazing BIPS Parents Group who provided all pupils with a drink to enjoy while watching the performance. £245 was raised for Children's Cancer Fund - Thank-you so much for your generosity.
