Ditch the Dark
Our very first Ditch the Dark Day took place on Wednesday 19 November 2014.
This initiative is supported by Sustrans and aims to raise Road Safety Awareness and Active School Travel. At the same time it promotes a healthier environment. Dave, our Sustrans representative, visited the school for a motivational talk and prize giving. He was amazed at the level of participation from Parents and Pupils. Having visited the school on a number of occasions he commented on the impact the day had on the traffic situation .
As staff, we could not help but notice the fun and enjoyment evident in the pupils ‘ journey to school. You will see this in the photographs below.
A huge thank you is due to all who took part. We are aware that a venture such as this does not happen without forward planning and additional effort on everyone’s part. Attention to weather forecasts are also crucial in ensuring the day is a success. All in all, it was a very memorable day and has hopefully given us all something to consider.
